2010 Event Update
Hello Lovers,

Hope you've been having a good summer. We're sorry we haven't been in more frequent communication. If you've been following the news you know it's been a difficult summer for dance music events worldwide, and this has effected us. We've wanted to let you know what's going on but it's kept changing so this is the reason for the delay. We have worked for months with city authorities on a plan that would allow us to continue at Civic Center, but in the end, it was concluded that our Civic Center festival site was not large enough to safely host an event of such huge popularity.

We've been working on an alternative site and continue to do so. We hope to make an announcement next week.

We DO know that regardless of how things turn out with our day event, we will celebrate Love Week as we always have - with a series of top notch affiliated events from Wednesday to Sunday, showcasing a range of talent in the clubs and other venues. So if you've made plans to come to San Francisco know that there is still plenty of fun to be had.

We're pleased to let you know about an awesome show that LovEvolution Live, Goldenvoice and Tantra are producing at the Warfield featuring Infected Mushroom (performing live and also doing a rare classical mushroom DJ set), as well as the legendary Shpongle and Hallucinogen Live. This event is sure to sell out so we highly recommend a pre-sale. (There is no event at Bill Graham Auditorium this year)

More info on the Love Week page.

We'll also be announcing a host of great Love Week events produced by our amazing float production partners, who continue to be a crucial part of the plan for this year.

Stay tuned for more info coming up soon. Thanks for your support and know we are as dedicated as ever to bringing the love.

Please pass it on.

Talk soon

San Francisco LovEvolution Returns in 2010
Hello Lovers. We are pleased to announce the return of America's seminal dance music event : San Francisco LovEvolution : A Dance Music Parade & Festival. After last year's successful event we were able to make donations of close to $100,000 to various community groups and non-profits such as Next Aid, Access/ Women's Health Rights Coalition, Friends of the SF Library, AIDS Emergency Fund/Breast Cancer Emergency Fund, Cloud Factory Collective for the Arts, Asian Art Museum, Center for Sex & Culture, Beat University AIDS Housing Alliance, Bay Positives, and other volunteer groups that helped staff the event. This is a great use of our scene and community to do good in the world, and this is what we're about! We look forward to building on this work to channel our music into helping others.

As we continue to grow and evolve we'll be making more adjustments and improvements to keep the quality high and the production value cutting edge. Stay tune for info as it's developed and shared. We look forward to making more love on October 2nd - 2010 !

Our Values and Intention

San Francisco LovEvolution exists to produce a celebration of the highest forms of electronic music culture and technology, in the belief that dance promotes peace, love, unity and respect.

The purpose of this organization is to serve the electronic dance music community by organizing public events, presenting electronic art forms, generating funds to support artistic development, advancing music education & production, as well as the right to dance and educating the public regarding the rights and contributions of our community.

The San Francisco LovEvolution is dedicated to giving back to the community, with a portion of proceeds going to participating non-profit organizations. This year's event is a continuity of past events, with a parade down Market St and festival at Civic Center plaza. A celebration of music, love, diversity, tolerance, dance, and community. Dance music has always had a special ability to bring people together in the shared beauty of a universal vibe. Our community by and large remains 'underground' in U.S. pop culture due to very little support from radio and MTV, etc. We know that in a culture awash in conflict, materialism, superficial concerns, and greed, an event of this kind can lift the spirits and the hopes of those who to surrender to it's power. The power of dance. The power of music. The power of community. We do not dance in the streets to escape the reality of our times - we dance to face them as a community, pointing the direction to a better way, set to beats and the full color of our expression. We gather to inspire and motivate social action by us, the youth, the people who will inherit this mess and have to do something about it to turn the tide. We intend to make the event a platform for dance music to reach more ears in America and beyond, to carry a message of love and hope, to be a vehicle for helping organizations doing good in the world, and for dancing our asses off surrounded by friendly freaks.
